The Photobook: From the Image to the Book
Dates: Fridays, May 4–June 22, 2018
Time: 11am‑1pm (New York City time)
Limited enrollment: 10 students
This class is for photographers who have a body of work ready to be made into a book and who are interested in exploring and conceptualizing a variety of ways to create their own book. Students will learn about editing, sequencing, and about different approaches to book binding. A selection of photo books by contemporary photographers will be discussed. Through critique and book-form exercises the students will produce a book dummy using their own images. By the end of the class students will be ready to produce their own book through a print-on-demand platform.
Prerequisite: Students should have a body of work ready to be made into a book.
