A Photographer’s Guide to the Expressive Richness of Light
Light is what makes photography possible, and learning to see and appreciate the light in a given moment is one of the joys of making pictures. It can also be a key to unlocking your own great photographs. In this class, we’ll explore light and shadow, light at different times of day, the impact of light on color, making photos at night, using a flash, and the surprising way the moisture content of the air can be one of the most significant factors in light.
We’ll look at the ways great masters of photography activated the powers and mysteries of light, as well as exploring practical, real-world techniques that will help us to see the subtle and important ways light can make the crucial difference between average and exceptional photographs. Weekly critique of your work will sharpen your potential as a light explorer.
