StrudelmediaLive believes that a diverse group of students enriches the learning experience for everyone involved. With our scholarship programs, we strive to make our unique classes accessible to a wide range of students.
We currently have two scholarship programs: the Opportunity Scholarship and the Mentoring Scholarship. Our photography scholarships are need-based and we encourage you to apply! There are no application fees for our scholarships.

The StrudelmediaLive Opportunity Scholarship
This photography scholarship was established in 2021 by Heather Mattera and StrudelmediaLive to provide a range of photographers the chance to develop their creative expression and refine their visual practice by studying with our accomplished international teachers. StrudelmediaLive believes that a diverse group of students enriches the learning experience for everyone involved, and this scholarship — open to anyone around the world — works toward that goal by providing tuition assistance to students who wouldn’t normally be able to afford our classes.
The Opportunity Scholarship is typically offered to two students three times per year; in addition, a special part of this scholarship is earmarked for previous scholarship recipients to continue their studies with StrudelmediaLive. There is no application fee for this scholarship.
The StrudelmediaLive Mentoring Scholarship
Many photographers and media artists working on a longterm project — whether it’s a documentary project, a more conceptual piece, working on a photobook, preparing for portfolio reviews or an exhibition — often need additional outside support to find their way through.
This mentoring scholarship — established by Heather Mattera and StrudelmediaLive in summer 2024 — aims to provide photographers who are working on a project a chance to go deeper with an individual mentorship, to study one-on-one with one of our accomplished international teachers, over the course of three sessions.
