Visual Storytelling — Developing Your Own Voice

Interested in this class? Email us and we'll notify you next time it runs.

Would you like to start a new project but don’t quite know how? Or are you looking for new ideas for something you’re already working on? We’ll discuss a variety of approaches to visual storytelling — ways of shooting, story structure, research, composition, editing and sequencing, and documentary and conceptual approaches. We’ll also look at work by other photographers to analyze the tools they used for creative storytelling, including adding non-photographic elements. This class meets every few weeks and assignments will be customized to each student, to help you develop your own individual photographic voice.

I have learned much from Anja and StrudelmediaLive classes. She and the other teachers are very well accomplished on the technical and artistic sides of photography, helping me to grow in both areas. Anja has a creative mind and is very pleasant to work with — very important traits for a photography mentor. I look forward to more classes with her and the other teachers.

Thank you both very much for a great course. I loved watching the movie clips and seeing students' interpretation through your talented guidance. See you again soon!
