Open call for the StrudelmediaLive Opportunity Scholarship! This photography scholarship was established to provide a range of photographers the chance to develop their creative expression and refine their visual practice by studying with our accomplished international teachers. StrudelmediaLive believes that a diverse group of students enriches the learning experience for everyone involved, and this scholarship — open to anyone around the world — works toward that goal by providing tuition assistance to students who wouldn’t normally be able to afford our classes.

The Scholarship this term is awarded to two students who will each receive:

  • credit for full tuition to participate in a StrudelmediaLive class of their choice during the Winter 2025 term,
  • a private mentoring session with Anja Hitzenberger (founder of StrudelmediaLive), and
  • will have their work featured on the StrudelmediaLive Instagram.

Scholarship recipients are required to:

  • attend all sessions of the class;
  • speak English well enough to follow the class;
  • complete all class assignments;
  • have access to a good Internet connection; and
  • have access to and proficiency with their own camera equipment.

This scholarship is being generously underwritten by Heather Mattera — a photographer and StrudelmediaLive student. When she established this scholarship, she told us

By offering this scholarship, it is my hope others will have the opportunity to engage in a craft that is life enriching and possibly even life changing.

I chose StrudelmediaLive as the platform for my scholarship as I strongly believe their classes not only explore the "how" of an image, but, maybe more importantly, take a step further to explore the "why." This exploration is done with thoughtful instructors who create a safe space for introspection of one’s work. Honestly, I do not know of any other platform that does it as well and that cares so much about the well-being of its instructors and students.
