Peter Garfield

Peter Garfield is an interdisciplinary artist, currently working in photography, video, drawing, and installation. He graduated from Dartmouth College, pursued his graduate studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts (Paris), and is on the faculty at Parsons School of Design and School of Visual Arts (SVA).

Solo exhibitions include Wexner Center for the Arts, Musée Historique de Vevey (Switzerland), Art & Public (Geneva), Feigen Contemporary, Kapinos Galerie (Berlin), and Queens Museum. A selection of two-person and group exhibitions include Mass MoCA, Centre Georges Pompidou, Brooklyn Museum, San Francisco Camerawork, Whitney Museum of American Art, and International Film Festival Rotterdam. His work has been published internationally and is a part of numerous collections, including FRAC Bourgogne, (Dijon, France), Los Angeles County Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, International Center of Photography, MIT List Visual Arts Center, and Berkshire Museum.

Awards include National Endowment for the Arts, New York Foundation for the Arts, Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship, Wexner Center for the Arts, and Edward F. Albee Foundation.
