As a black-and-white photographer without any art education beyond crayons, I knew I needed to learn color someday. Shala taught me how to think and see in color, so I now seamlessly switch between color and black-and-white based on the emotions I’m trying to convey. She excelled at facilitating our group’s discussions and had terrific links to things we needed to read and look at to help us expand our vision. I am forever grateful for her mentoring and guidance.

I loved the class and learned so much — not just InDesign technical stuff, but also design and photography aesthetics… it was awesome!

Over the past two years I have taken four live online classes and it has been a very rewarding experience. I have especially enjoyed the global nature of these classes, having been in class with photographers from India, Sweden, Monaco, South Korea, and Germany. In addition to improving my photographic skills, I have learned a great deal about the cultures of and conditions in other countries.  

Kat was a fantastic teacher — really smart and super organized. She gave us excellent feedback and provided lots of useful resources as we continue on our photographic journey. i learned so much and am very happy I took this class.

Thank you for all your guidance and patience with my project. There were some terrific students/talent in the class and you did a great job getting everyone to participate!
