small-group online photography classes

Fred is more than just a professor or a teacher. His words are honest, and his care for his work is deeply real. He treats his students as a collective force, not just individuals in a classroom. He truly sees their shared strength and believes in their voices, and he understands that their differences are a source of power. Fred is a genuinely real human being, and that is what makes learning from him so meaningful.

Anja and Edward did a great job creating this class. I especially enjoyed the Hong Kong films featured in the class — they were new to me. I must say that the class made me think of films in a different way. It was strange to me that I reacted to the assignments as real challenges that made me quite nervous — a sure sign that the class was a true growth experience. I hope I can take another course with you someday down the road.  

Over the past two years I have taken four live online classes and it has been a very rewarding experience. I have especially enjoyed the global nature of these classes, having been in class with photographers from India, Sweden, Monaco, South Korea, and Germany. In addition to improving my photographic skills, I have learned a great deal about the cultures of and conditions in other countries.  

I am a huge fan of live online photography classes, having participated in a dozen since 2014! Through inspiring and encouraging critique from instructors and discussion with other students, I have seen my own work and that of others grow, focus and refine. Another benefit of these classes is the opportunity to meet and interact with others, near and far, who, like myself, are not able to participate in a New York City classroom. I have enjoyed Anja's classes so very much; her expertise is impressive, her enthusiasm contagious!  

I really enjoyed this class — It helped me think about my work in a deeper way. And I loved learning InDesign. Now I feel I have the tools to put it all together. Thank you both.
